This plane was the second XJD-1 Prototype. It was a glass-nose version that had been stripped of its guns.
It was originally USAF 44-35467.

21 May 1945 - Accepted in Naval inventory from USAF. Formerly 44-35467, assigned BuNo 57991. Assigned to VU-4.
Jul 1945 - Sent to Litchfield Park Storage Facility.
Aug 1945 - Assigned to (illegible).
Dec 1945 - Assigned to Overhaul & Repair Facility Norfolk for minor repairs.
12 Jun 1946 - Assigned to VJ-16, which became VU-10 in Nov 1946. The record card shows a new assignment to VU-10 in November, but the squadron's designation changed.
Sep 1947 - Assigned to Operational Pool at Norfolk NAS.
22 Mar 1949 - Assigned to Overhaul & Repair Facility Norfolk.
May 1950 - Assigned to VU-4. With status of Utility, Aging.
10 Jul 1951 - Transferred to Overhaul & Repair Facility Norfolk in non-flyable status for Progressive Maintenance Conversion.
11 Sep 1951 - Overhaul started at O&R Norkfolk.
