Operational History
3 Aug 1945 - Accepted into inventory from USAF.
NOTE: The record indicates that the plane was accepted 3 Aug 1945, but the first entry isn't until October. Based on the history of 77139, I believe this plane was immediately delivered to the Litchfield Park Storage Facility where it sat from Aug to October.
Oct 1945 - Assigned to Experimental Utility Squadron 25 (XVJ-25). This squadron eventually became VX-2.
Mar 1946 - XVJ-25 became re-designated Air Development Squadron 2 (VX-2).
Apr 1946 - Sent to Overhaul & Repair Facility Norfolk.
22 Jul 1946 - "exists between activities" (ie: Awaiting assignment), at Norfolk.
Aug 1946 - Assigned to VJ-7.
Nov 1946 - VJ-7 re-designated as VU-7.
Sep 1948 - Sent to San Diego. This is unclear if it means the O&R San Diego Facility or the San Diego Pool. There's also not another mention of it until 10 months later when it shows up at Norfolk.
28 Jul 1949 - In overhaul at Overhaul & Repair Facility Norfolk.
May 1950 - Sent to Litchfield Park Storage Facility. Standard Rework not required, aircraft undamaged.
27 Feb 1951 - Sent to Overhaul & Repair Facility San Diego for modernization.
6 Jul 1951 - Sent to FASRON 691 for Surface Transport.
14 Jul 1951 - Arrived with VU-7. Served with Detachment A with status Utility, Aging.
20 Jul 1951 - Assigned to VU-1.
28 Oct 1952 - Status changed to Utility, Not-aging.
