Converted from 44-35608.
64-17660 was the plane flown by the Commanding Officer of the 609th Special Operations Squadron at Nakhon Phanom AFB, Thailand. This is why the plane bears diagonal stripes on the fuselage - a mark of distinction for the commander's plane. At one point all planes flown by the 1st Special Operations Wing had diagonal stripes like this - red and yellow on non-camouflaged planes, but by the end of the Invader's military service life these marks were reserved for the Commanding Officer only.
