Operational History

25 Jul 1945 - construction finished, plane available
27 Jul 1945 - accepted into USAF inventory (Taken on Charge).
For some reason the plane was shipped from Tulsa to Long Beach. It left Tulsa on the 27th and went to Love Field.
28 Jul 1945 - Left Love Field for Long Beach.
29 Jul 1945 - Arrived at Long Beach.
It appears to have sat in storage at Long Beach for about 9 months.

1 Mar 1946 - Assigned to 47th Bomb Group, then stationed at Lake Charles, LA.
11 Nov 1946 - The 47th Bomb Group moved to Biggs Field.
The plane had a couple of short trips to other bases during this time, but remained stationed with the 47th @ Biggs as its primary duty station.

31 Mar 1949 - The 47th Bomb Group moved to Barksdale AFB.
15 Aug 1949 - The plane was assigned to Air Material Command (AMC) - Storage.
17 Oct 1949 - Assigned to 2750th Air Base Unit @ Wright-Patterson AFB.

7 Mar 1951 - Assigned to the 4400th Combat Crew Training Squadron (CCTS) @ Langley AFB. This unit was the Air Commando group.

10 Mar 1952 - Assigned to the 3555th Fighter Training Wing @ Perrin AFB. In this capacity should would have been a target tug pulling aerial gunnery targets for the fighters.

16 Apr 1953 - 3755th Pilot Training Wing @ Vance AFB. She was converted to a TB-26 and had a dual control yoke installed here. She was used to train new pilots on how to fly.
8 Sep 1953 - Sent to AMC Storage at Hill AFB.

11 Jan 1954 - Assigned back to 3575th Training Wing @ Vance.

May 1957 - Assigned to the 180th Fighter Squadron @ Rosecrans AFB, MO.
Dec 1957 - Sent to long term storage at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.
Aug 1958 - Authorized for Reclamation (scrapping).
9 Oct 1958 - Sold from USAF to Aviation Rental Service, Flemming Field, Sout St. Paul, MN. Purchase price was $3,750. Aircraft was not registered. [1]

Scott Thompson also shows this plane as being registered as N2923Y, however FAA Registration records disprove this.

3 Jan 1959 - Sold to Max L. Beigert, Phoenix, AZ. Purchase price was $10,000. Aircraft was not registered. [1]
14 Apr 1959 - Sold to Kenlyn Petroleum Corporation, Torrence, CA. Purchase price was $10,000. Registered as N8394H on 20 Apr 1959. [1]

21 Oct 1971 - Sold as OnMark Marketeer from Kenlynn to Two Jacks, Inc, Arlington, TN for $15,000. [1]
30 Oct 1971 - Sold as OnMark Marketeer from Two Jacks to Air Journeys, Inc, Little Rock, AR for $17,800. National Bank of Commerce carried the loan for 36 months at 10% APR. The monthly payments were $575.05. Aircraft re-registered as N8394H.[1]
2 Dec 1971 - Re-registered as N8394H by Air Journeys, Inc. [1]

17 Apr 1972 - Sold from Air Journeys to Two Jacks, Inc, Arlington, TN. [1]
30 Oct 1971 - Sold from Two Jacks to Air Journeys. [1]
20 Dec 1971 - Sold from Air Journeys to H. E. Rupp of Mansfield, OH. Aircraft re-registered as N8394H. [1]
NOTE: This section is confusing and doesn't make much sense. The date on at least one of these documents is wrong.

29 Dec 1972 - H. E. Rupp sells N8394H back to Two Jacks, Inc. [1]
19 Dec 1972 - Two Jacks sells the plane to Penn-Aire Aviation, Inc, Franklin, PA. [1]
Note: Although the date listed is the 19th, I suspect this to be a typo and that it should read the 29th. Otherwise Two Jacks would have sold the plane to Penn-Aire 10 days before they purchased it.

6 Jun 1973 - Penn-Aire Aviation sells the plane to Randolph "Randy" W. Blankinship, Seattle, WA. Re-registered as N8394H.[1]

18 Mar 1974 - Robert G. Maslan is granted a security interest in the ownership of Blankinship's plane. [1]
11 May 1974 - Randolph Blankinship sells the plane to William M. Berg, Everest, WA. Re-registered as N8394H. [1]
18 May 1974 - The interest of Robert Maslan is released from conveyance. [1]

15 Feb 1975 - William M. Berg sells the plane to Stanley Aviation Corp, Denver, CO. Re-registered as N8394H. [1]

29 Jan 1976 - Stanley Aviation cancels the registration claiming the plane was destroyed or scrapped. [1]
27 May 1976 - Aircraft Accident Notice listing N8394H as destroyed. [1]

16 Dec 1977 - Stanley Aviation Corp sells the plane to Slaco, Inc, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. [1]

19 Feb 1981 - Slaco, Inc sells the plane to Rodney G. Huskey, Grand Junction, CO. [1]
7 May 1981 - Rodney Huskey attempts to re-register N8394H. The application is denied because someone else is holding that registration. The Registration is eventually granted. [1]

26 Mar 1997 - Registration is cancelled by Huskey due to the aircraft being "under restoration". [1]
15 May 1997 - 2nd request to cancel registration due to "under restoration". [1]
