Operational History

This plane was assigned to the 669th Bombardment Squadron, 416th Bombardment Group during November 1944. It began participating in combat missions immediately thereafter.

19 MAR 1948 - This aircraft was involved in a landing accident due to mechanical failure while at Chatham Field, GA. The pilot that day was Paul C. Mitchell, Jr. It was assigned to the 138th BS, 118th FG at the time. It is listed as a B-26C on this report, so presumably it was outfitted with a glass nose at the time.

This aircraft survived the war and was in military service until at least 1948. Additional research is needed from the plane's IARC.
