Built Douglas Tusla Accepted into USAF Inventory 28 May 1945 Available for USAF 29 May 1945 Delivered to USAF 30 May 1945 Sent to Douglas Modification Plant 30 May 1945 Modifications completed, sent to Salinas Army Air Base 30 Jul 1945 (Salinas was a based used for training crews for overseas deployment. The Modifications here were most likely to bring it in line with specifications for Pacific Theater service.) Transferred from Salinas AAB to Grenada - 4255th Base Unit 9 Sep 1945. Transferred to Hobbs Air Base - 4160th Base Unit 22 Mar 1946. Transferred to MacLellan AB - 4127th Base Unit 16 Jun 1947. Transferred to Illinois ANG - 168th Bomb Squadron - 29 Dec 1947. Transferred to Lawson Field - 4408th Air Base Squadron - 10 Oct 1950 Transferred to Lawson - 117th Tactical Recon Wing - 28 Nov 1950. Transferred to Shaw AFB - 118th Tactical Recon Wing - 13 Jan 1952. Transferred to Langley - 4400th Combat Crew Training Group - 2 Dec 1952. (This unit would later participate in CIA Black Ops missions in Vietnam during 1961 under the code name "Jungle Jim"). Transferred to Hill AFB, unit unclear - 13 Jan 1953. Transferred to Rosecrans - 180th Bomb Squadron, MO ANG. - 8 Jul 1954. Transferred to Davis Monthan - 2 May 1957. Authorized for Reclamation - Aug 1958. From there it was sold and entered the Civil population. This plane never served as a JD-1 during it's operational history.
