AHRN Library

The AHRN Library is an online repository hosted by the IHF which features a 2TB hosting size of different resources.

Photos

The AHRN Library contains more than 16,000 images of planes and crew, with more being added all of the time. This is one of our first projects to update and expand.

Documents

The AHRN library contains entire microfilm reels from the USAFHRA including, Accident Reports, Missing Air Crew Reports, Inventory Records, Unit Histories, Mission Logs, and more.

There are also a number of select documents from the US Navy, including inventory and accident reports.

A growing number of FAA documents are also included on select airframes, including ownership & registration paperwork, accident reports, airworthiness reports, and other similar documents.

There are also a number of member-created databases and files on airframes, accidents, and similar cross-reference and look-up tools.

The library also hosts a series of white papers regarding best practices on research methods, and explorations of new technology within the field.

Individual Members

Individual members are associated with the organizations who are direct members of the Aviation History Research Network, or they may be honorary members who have been granted status with the Network based on their contributions to the field.

All researchers on this list are competent and capable researchers, and this list is in no way reflective of their abilities, but rather it is a measure of their involvement and contributions to the Network directly.

Senior Researchers have a deep invested interest in the success of the AHRN and its member organizations and have contributed significantly to its success, either by contributing documents, material, financial resources, or in other ways of significant importance. This may include white papers, guidebooks and written information, or other documents of a research-related focus.

Member Researchers have a long history with the AHRN members at large and have contributed information and ideas on an as-needed basis. They are willing to help and assist where they can.

Associate Researchers are those who have a new relationship with the Network and have simply not yet invested enough time or resources to be counted among the more senior members. They are a very welcome addition to the Network, and we hope that they will become the future of our group.
