Gunner Compartment Changes

After the release of ICM Plastic Model's 1/48 scale A-26B-50-DL model kit I became aware that the gunner's compartment was actually quite varied. I put this section in place to document all of the changes to the gunner's compartment based on block number. The interior of the gunner's compartment, to my knowledge, hasn't changed very much between the different production blocks. However, the exterior of the gunner's compartment has had some significant modifications.

Block 1B

None of the photos I have of this production block show the gunner's compartment exterior.

Block 2C

None of the photos I have of this production block show the gunner's compartment exterior.

Block 5B

I only have 1 photo of this production block that shows this side of the plane. It appears as though there is no exterior door into the gunner's compartment in this production block. If true, that would suggest that Block 1 also did not have a door.

Block 10B

The photos I have of this block are somewhat obscured for the DL models, but they suggest that this block did not have a gunner's compartment door. A single plane from the DT block does show the door, but this photo is from the 1950s so it is unclear if this block was built with the door or if a door was added later.

Block 15B

I have several clear photos of Block 15B planes (41-39144, 41-39145, 41-39186, 41-39187). This block was not equipped with an exterior door, which is suggestive that previous blocks also did not have an exterior door.
