My name is Johnathan Clayborn. If you are trying to get in touch with me, my email address is johnathan.clayborn @ gmail.com.

I began researching genealogy about 20 years ago and was very excited about it. I've long been consumed with questions about "where do we come from?" both on a personal level and as a species. My early years of genealogical study were fraught with high ambition and little wisdom, which resulted in a mess of results that I didn't have much evidence to support. Between that fact, and my family tree file being corrupted due to many upgrades over the years I decided that starting over completely from scratch would be faster and easier than trying to fix the broken tree and find all of the sources. So that's what I've been doing, working on rebuilding everything with meticulous source details and documents.

I first learned about genetic genealogy circa 2003 when Dr. Alex Waldrop reached to me to be part of his study. The results were quite surprising (which I'll cover in more detail in the families pages). I've been diligently searching for answers ever since.

My profession I work in the training and development field. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and then a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. I completed all of my coursework for my PhD in Educational Psychology , and after a year in dissertation, the school said I couldn't do my topic and I had to start over but lacked the funds to do so. I've published a couple of academic research papers and I am a peer reviewer for a half-dozen journals. I aim to bring my attention to detail and documentation and research skills to this project.

If you have any questions about the project, it's findings, or anything like that, please send me an email.
