A chart from Douglas Aircraft in the 1950's showing the lineage and evolution of their planes. Note that in the 3rd column the A-20 Havoc and B-26 Invader are shown as being developed in parallel, with the DB-7 as the common ancestor. While most people have said that the Invader evolved from the Havoc, it would be more accurate to say that it evolved from the same plane that the Havoc evolved from. Photo from Boeing Archives.
