Submission Guidelines

We will consider both complete and incomplete works for publication.

For incomplete works: you must have at least 3 chapters drafted, as well as an outline, and a query letter. If we like your style and proposal we will extend a provisional contract contingent upon your completion of the work. We will not impose a deadline on you to finish the work – we want to make sure you aren’t pressurized and have enough time to finish it. However, if no significant progress is made within a 12 month time-frame we reserve the right to cancel our contract.

For completed works: you must send at least 3 chapters of your manuscript, you may send the full copy if you wish. Please include a query letter as well.

File Formats: You may submit your work in any of the following formats: .txt, .doc, .docx, .rtf, .html.  We currently are not accepting printed or typed submissions at this time.

Process: Upon receipt of your manuscript one of our editors will review the work. If we think it’s a good fit we will offer a contract. If the editor doesn’t like it, the book will go to a second editor for review. If they like it a contract will be offered.

You may submit your manuscripts to: ClaybornPress @ Gmail.com. Your subject line should include the word QUERY followed by the title of your book. Emails that do not contain “query” in the subject line may be misrouted or take longer to respond to.
