A native of southern Illinois, Chad Dickhaut has been writing creatively since he entered a young authors contest in grade school (a time travel adventure which, alas, lost to a story about bunnies or something banal like that. Not that he’s bitter about it, mind you). He has long been prone to visions of a grand multiverse, and has written a wide variety of science fiction and fantasy short stories and roleplaying game materials on an amateur basis in an attempt to make sense off it all. He took second place in the prestigious Facebook Space Opera: Writers group Fall 2016 flash fiction contest and has participated in nearly every other contest the group has sponsored. He currently lives in northern Indiana with his wife and three children.
He is currently writing a space opera novel titled One Thing Leads to Another, a modern take on such genre classics as E.E. “Doc” Smith’s Triplanetary and Isaac Asimov’s Foundation. When Dunvan “Deuce” Piper, a Judicor for the Triumvirate of Stellar Polities, accepted a contract to secure a person of interest and his contraband package, he had no idea he would find himself embroiled in Triumvarite political squabbles, fending off Martekk assassins, and crawling through Okd Empire ruins to find the information they need to circumvent a catastrophe of galactic proportions. But to be forced to do that alongside the irascible Jehera, another Judicor? That’s adding insult to injury.
