Air Force:
Division:
Wing: 1st Air Commando Wing

1st Special Operations Wing

Active:
Theater
Motto: Anyplace, Anytime
Aircraft: Douglas B-26K

This unit was originally called the 1st Air Commando Wing. The name was changed in 1968 to the 1st Special Operations Wing.

Units

4400th Combat Crew Training Squadron
4410th Combat Crew Training Squadron
603rd Special Operations Squadron

Planes

Planes assigned to this wing were assigned to a component unit of the wing, but for the sake of completeness I have listed all of the planes that were assigned to any squadron in the wing in this table.

Exceptions to this are planes that were assigned to the 605th Air Commando Squadron. From 1964-1967 the unit was under the 1st Air Commando Wing, but during 1967 the unit was transferred to the 24th Air Commando Wing. Rather than list the planes under both wings I am treating the 605th as "autonomous" for the sake of inventory. Once those planes were assigned to Panama I stop counting them as part of the 1st ACW, although technically they still were.

Planes that were assigned to the 603rd Air Commando Squadron-Detachment-1 at Nakhon Phanom Air Base are similarly listed under the 56th Special Operations Wing page because the planes were attached to the 606th Air Commando Squadron, which is part of the 56th ACW.
